Introduction

Achievement

  • Three months.

  • From research to design to development to deployment.

  • We successfully launched our MVP product that highly reflected our user research results and design solutions.

  • After displaying this project in the Student Expo. University of Michigan ITS group recognize the value of our app and decided to build from our product to power the whole school buildings' navigations.

Introduction

We built an AR-powered school orientation iOS application that helps students to orient themselves within North Quad, navigate to events in the building and get access to the events of interests.

Features

An iOS app that allows users to:

  • Navigate in a complex school building by scanning sign images originally in the building.

  • Add the User profile (setup personal event of interests).

  • Access to events in schools.

Technical Specifications

  • Interface Development Xcode and Swift.

  • Backend Database - Python Flask - A database for the event get/add/delete and navigation nodes get/add/delete.

  • Navigation

    • ARKit provides an image-recognition algorithm to help the phone get the current location of users.

    • A navigation algorithm can calculate Navigation path based on the node location.
